Nocturnal emission without discharge

Fatwaa ID: 2099

Assalamualaikum wr wb respected mucti sahib,

if a woman experiences nocturnal emission without discharge, will this grant a need for ghusl?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Your question is not clear. A nocturnal emission refers to a spontaneous orgasm during one’s sleep wherein one ejaculates semen or vaginal discharge. You state that there was no discharge. If there was no discharge, more specifically seminal discharge, then there is no need to perform ghusl. Ghusl will only be necessary if you experience seminal discharge.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
