Question:
Assalamu alaykum. May I ask if a person is passing something to another (i.e. mug) across whist one is praying, is this same thing as crossing by someone when they are praying without Sutra?
- Would above nullify or have an effect in Salah or person doing will be sinful?
JazakAllahu Khayran
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
- The above may not exactly be the same but is similar in disturbing a person. When one is performing salaah, he is conversing with Allaah Ta’aala. Utmost dedication and devotion is vital. Passing something in front of him will definitely divert his attention from his salaah.
- The above will not nullify the salaah. However, it will definitely have an affect on the person’s khushoo’ and focus. The person who unnecessarily becomes a means of this may be accountable for his actions. He is perhaps serving the shaytaan in such a case.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
