Placing feet above Deeni books

Fatwaa ID: 1910

Assalamu alaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh,

Mufti Saheb just like we can’t place our feet above the Quran Kareem, does the same apply to Deeni books such as hadeeth and tafseer?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The respect and honor one manifests to the matters of Deen is an exposition of his taqwaa. Islamic literature such as books of Ahaadith and Tafseer should be shown utmost respect and reverence. They should be kept on a higher shelf. One’s feet should not be above such books.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
