Question:
Asalamoalaykum Is it okay to Pray namaz on a mat that has A B C D written on it. It’s a kids Mat.

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is unadvisable to perform salaah on a mat that has the ABCs written on it. It may deter one’s attention from salaah. One performing salaah, one should use a place or mat that has the least things; the simpler the prayer mat, the better and easier it is to maintain and focus your attention. Notwithstanding the above, if salaah is performed on the above mat, the salaah will be valid.
