Question:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
On arriving in a new country it looked like maghrib time had already passed and I prayed the maghrib salah. Later when I googled for sunset time at that place it was still few minutes(4-5) for sunset.
What should I have done? Pray the salah again?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

A fardh salaah may only be performed once it becomes obligatory on a person, i.e., after the commencement of its time. In the enquired situation where you performed the Maghrib salaah before its time, it will be necessary for you to repeat it.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
