Asalaamu alaykum wrwb
If a state is selling some properties (real estate/houses) via auction with no details of the property available besides the address. Houses are being sold “as is” Will it be permissible to purchase such properties in the following scenarios:
1: state has no knowledge about the condition of the properties and therefore no disclosure is provided
2: State has no knowledge about the condition but has the ability to find out and hence provide a disclosure but chose not to
3: State knows the condition but provides no disclosure
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
It is permissible to purchase properties being sold “as is” from the state and others via auctions. All three of the above scenarios are permissible.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
