A woman resides in Michigan and travels to Illinois to visit her family every 2-3 weeks for 5-6 days at a time. During her time in Illinois she prays qasr.
This time around she arrived in Illinois on January 8th and intended to stay until January 13th and was hence praying qasr again. On January 12th, she found out that she needs to stay in Illinois until January 21st. Should she have continued shortening her pray or returned to praying full?
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
We take note of the details of your query. In the enquired situation, she should continue making qasr until her departure. The count of days restarted from the 12th when her intentions changed.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
