Quran videos, hadith app

Fatwaa ID: 2179

As salaam alaikum,

Question: I know that drawing and making images of animals and people isn’t allowed in Islam. But what about making quranic videos like putting mountains, rivers, ocean, empty downtown and buildings on the video.

The second question I want to ask is about posting Hadith. So I have this app called ‘‘Hadith Collection (All in one)’’ and wanted to screenshots them to post on tik tok and youtube etc. With nasheed sounds. Quran and Hadith on the same account. Also getting paid as well through the content. Is it forbidden to do that?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

  1. It is permissible to make videos of Qur’anic recitations with appropriate aesthetic images or videos of inanimate objects.
  2. The above is permissible. However, ensure that the nasheeds are permissible and that they are only a background sound, not so loud that they distract one’s attention from the verse or Hadith.
  3. You may get paid through the content. The income therefrom will be permissible. However, ensure that your ultimate intention is seeking the pleasure of Allaah Ta’aala and being a source of benefit and reminder/hidaayah for others.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
