Question:
Assalamu Alaikum
Mufti Sahib I did something in salat and some musalee are confused about it.
I forgot to recite one ayat in my first Raka’t and then on my secound rakat I remembered it so I first recited that and then moved on to my secound Surah.
Obviously, it was valid, but like is this the Tarteeb.
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Your salaah was valid. There was no need to read the missed ayah as you are not doing a khatam. At the same time, there is no problem if you do read it first and then read something else. However, when leading a congregation of laymen, it will be advisable not to read it as it may cause unnecessary confusion like in the enquired situation.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
