Question:
As salaamu alaykum

Are we not allowed to recite Qur’an over deceased before the ghusl of the body?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is permissible to recite Qur’aan as eesaal thawaab for the deceased at any time. There is no restriction. This includes prior to giving the deceased his/her final bath.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
