REMOVING HAIR AND NAILS DURING MENSTRUATION

Question:

Is it permissible to remove hairs and nails during menstruation

Answer:

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible, but undesirable to remove one’s unwanted hair and clip one’s nails during the menstrual period[1].

وقد بينا هذا الفصل إلا أنه ذكره هنا بلفظ يستدل به على أنه كان من مذهبه أن الأصل في الأشياء الإباحة، وأن الحرمة بالنهي عنها شرعا

والأصل في الأشياء الإباحة. قال الله سبحانه وتعالى: {هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا} [البقرة: 29] وقال سبحانه وتعالى: {قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ} [الأعراف: 32] .

والحل هو الأصل في الأشياء.

واعلم أن الأصل في الأشياء كلها سوى الفروج الإباحة قال الله تعالى {هو الذي خلق لكم ما في الأرض جميعا} [البقرة: 29] وقال {كلوا مما في الأرض حلالا طيبا} [البقرة: 168] وإنما تثبت الحرمة بعارض نص مطلق أو خبر مروي فما لم يوجد شيء من الدلائل المحرمة فهي على الإباحة
