Question:
Can we give sadaqa to our relatives who aren’t zakaat eligible?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Nafl sadaqah may be given to anyone including one’s relatives and those who are not zakaah eligible. As for waajib or fardh sadaqah, that may be given to eligible individuals only. Assisting relatives with sadaqah or zakaah, where eligible, is encouraged and the reward is manifold.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
