Question:
Assalamualikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuhu. Is it permissible in islam for men to indulge in motor sports e.g safari rally or motorbike racing, considering it could be very dangerous for a persons life

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Preserving one’s life and ensuring safety and well-being is a fundamental obligation on a person. This body and this life of ours is a trust from Allaah Ta’aala. One must do his best to take care of it. In the enquired situation, if relative safety is found and one adopts the necessary safety protocols and guidelines, then it will be permissible to take part in the above races and rallies. If the above conditions are not met, then it should be avoided.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
