Salaah after using superglue

Fatwaa ID: 1447

Question:
I used super glue a couple days ago and it got on my fingers.

I somehow scraped it all of my fingers but today I realised that I have some on my nails aswell. Has this nullified my Salaah for the past few days and do I have to do Qaza of these Salaah? And what about Eid Salah that I’ve read?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

In principle, for the validity of wudhu, it is necessary to wash all the required parts of wudhu. If any part remains unwashed, then the wudhu will be invalid and subsequently the salaahs performed with it. The nails are part of the wudhu.

Accordingly, in the enquired situation, you must repeat the fardh salaahs you performed with that wudhu and the wudhus wherein the superglue may have remained. The Witrs would also have to be repeated according to the Hanafi legal school. As for the ‘Eid Salaah, there is no qadhaa for it. Make istighfaar instead.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
