Salaah without wudhu

Fatwaa ID: 2367

AsSalām ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuhū

If a person prayed majority of his salwat without wudu and this was done both out of laziness and (a lot of the time) taking Salah to be a light matter (استهانة) then would he have been considered a kafir hence no qada or a Muslim and now he has to do qada?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

We take note of the details of your query. The person in question should make sincere tawbah and istighfaar and make qadhaa of the salaahs he performed without wudhu. He should not look for excuses to get away from this. Sincerity of his regret demands that he humbles himself and corrects the wrongs he has done. He should make an estimated guess and actively work towards making up those salaahs. Ge should be reminded that salaah is not a burden but a connection and bond between him and his Creator. The comfort and bliss of his life here and in the next lies in this.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
