Salawaat upon other prophets

Fatwaa ID: 1478

If you send peace and salutations to other prophets (other than the holy peophet sallalahu alaihi wasallam) , do angels bring it to them in their grave?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is encouraged for one to send Salawaat and Salaam upon all the prophets (A). Rasulullaah ﷺ said,

صلوا على أنبياء الله ورسله، فإن الله بعثهم كما بعثني
“Send salutations upon (all) the prophets of Allaah and His messengers, for indeed Allaah has sent them just as he has sent me.” [Musannaf ‘Abd ar-Razzaaq, Bayhaqi]

It is the belief of the Ahlus Sunnah that the prophets (A) are alive in their grave. It is possible that just like how the angels convey the salaams directly to Muhammad ﷺ, they also do so with the other prophets (A). I have not come across anything express in this regard. Nevertheless, it is void of benefit for one to delve into such discussions.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
