Question:
As-salāmuʿalykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

Would satin come under the same ruling of prohibition of silk for men?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

While the look or somewhat feel similar, satin and silk are not the same. Satin can be made with many different materials, including silk. If it is made with natural silk, which is perhaps the highest quality of satin, then it will be impermissible for men to wear. If it is made with any other material, then it will be permissible for men to wear.
