Saying the kalimah and stretching it

Fatwaa ID: 1866

Is this authentic enough to forward or say to anyone?
One of the Companions said that whoever says: “No god except God” and lengthens his pronunciation intending thereby to magnify God, God will forgive for him Four thousand grave sins with it, and if he did not commit Four thousand, God will forgive the difference for his family and neighbours.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The above narration is a fabrication. It is not permissible to forward or share it with others.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.

وصل اللهم وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى ءاله وصحبه أجمعين

What is the status of following Hadith. Is it reliable to quote ?

من قال لا إله الله و مدھا ھدمت له اربعة آلاف ذنب من الکبائر

Whomsoever says ‘La ilaha illAllah’ and lengthens it (ie. recite it with a madd), four thousand major sins of his will be forgiven.

The Muhaddithun have declared this Hadith as a fabrication. It is therefore not suitable to quote.
