Seeing yellow discharge after haidh

Fatwaa ID: 206

Question:

Assalaam alaikum,

If a woman has menses or haiz for 6 days. On day 7 she sees some white discharge, assuming that her menses is over she takes Ghusl. But at night she sees a slight yellow discharge on the underwear. Will she have to perform Ghusl again in order to become paak?

JazakAllah

Answer:

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Sister in Islam,

Kindly state your menstrual habit (‘aadah) and we will respond accordingly.

In principle, if your normal cycle is less than ten days and you bleed till ten days, consider your cycle to be changed[i]. However, if you bleed for more than 10 days, then anything besides your normal cycle will be considered istihaadhah. All days of blood will be added together unless there is a fifteen day gap of no blood in between.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best
