Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu,
1) As Ahl As Sunna Wal Jamah, what is our stance on the 12 imams of the rawafidh?
2) In jannah, will we as men see ummahat al mumineen and other women pious individuals?
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
- History tells us that the first 11 imaams that the Shi’ahs claim to follow were in reality from the Ahlus Sunnah. We revere them just as we revere the salaf of this ummah. We believe that they are free from that which the Shi’ahs have fabricated and ascribed to them. As for the 12th imaam of theirs who they believe is supposed to be their savior but has ran away and has been hiding in a cave for the last few centuries, also known as the “Grand Occultation”, he is a mythical creature. He does not exist. Our mahdi and their mahdi are not the same.
- It is possible that we will be able to meet them. However, the Shari’ah has not stated whether we will be able to see them or not. Allaah Ta’aala alone knows the reality of what will happen.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
