Taking from another madhab because of waswasah

Fatwaa ID: 1941

Question:
Is it permissible for a person suffering from waswasa to take dispensation of another madhab if the following conditions are met? :

1) It does not lead to talfeeq

2) The opinion that one is taking is the majority opinion from the 4 schools of thought

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

May Allaah Ta’aala make it easy for you. It is not clear what your situation is nor your level of Islamic education to determine the above. Nonetheless, we suggest you present your situation to a competent scholar and he will advise you regarding the best way ahead. If he sees it appropriate, he may issue a ruling based on a position of another legal school.
