Taking water bottle from the masjid

Fatwaa ID: 997

Question:
Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuHu

Is it permissible for one to take a new water bottle from the masjid on his way out

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Water bottles are generally kept in the masjid for the benefit of the congregants and attendees. The donor’s purpose is to benefit others and provide water for them. In most cases, there is no restriction on how many bottles one can drink. Similarly, there is no restrictions on taking it out of the masjid. Accordingly, unless advised otherwise by those in charge, it will be permissible for one to take a bottle on his way out of the masjid. He should keep the donor in his du’aas.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
