Tawaaf with socks on

Fatwaa ID: 1708

Question:
Salam, doing voluntary tawaf, can we have our socks and if so, can they be above the ankles?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

You may perform nafl tawaaf with socks on provided that you are not in the state of ihraam. The ihraam footwear restrictions are only applicable when a person is in the state of ihraam. If you are not in the state of ihraam, you may wear any kind of socks, including those that cover the entire feet and ankles.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
