Question:
Assalamualaykum
A person is in Madeenah atm.
His flight out is on Fri morning which is most probably their Eid.
By Fri afternoon when he lands in SA it’s still going to be Ramadhan.
What should this Mu’tamir do?
Fast or not?
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
If a person starts his travels from a place where they are observing ‘Eid, then he too will observe ‘Eid with them. If he reaches his destination and finds the people still fasting and observing Ramadhaan, then he will also refrain from eating and drinking until sunset. This is to maintain the sanctity of the day. If his total count of fasts is less than 29, then he should fast one day after Ramadhaan to complete a full month of fasting.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
