السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته
I have been asked this question and am unsure of the answer.
I already completed one umrah and now we are going to madinah and then we’re going to come back to Makkah, so when I come back to Makkah, do I have to be in ihram?
If I do not intend Umrah, do I have to ?
Or can I go to Makkah pray salat and perform nafl tawaf.
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
According to the Hanafi legal school, if one leaves the Haram boundaries and returns later on, the he must don the ihraam when crossing the meeqaat and perform ‘umrah, irrespective of his intentions or purpose of entry. In the enquired situation, when you return to Makkah Mukarramah from Madeenah Munawwarah, you will have to enter the state of ihraam and perform a second ‘umrah.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
