Using Student MetroCards for unrelated purposes

Fatwaa ID: 1299

Question:
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah,

Would it be permissible to use students MetroCards for purposes other than commuting to and from school?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

One should follow the terms and rules in place. Violating them may result in unwanted problems and humiliation. The rules clearly state that MetroCards may be used only for school related activities. Thus, one should follow that.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
