Question:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Mufti Sahab
If an 8 boy prays alongside the women in jama’at because of his father not being there to take him to the men’s side, is this permissible? Or is it better avoided?
If it is better avoided then should he just pray alone in the side or at the back?
Clarification: No, no Mufti Sahab, obviously the men are also in the jama’at but in the main hall which has a separate entrance from the women’s entrance.
So the main imam is leading the salah.
The young boy is standing in the same saff as the women in the women’s hall.
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
We take note of the details of your query. The 8 year old non-baaligh boy should not join the saff with the women. However, if he does, the salaah of the women will be valid. He should preferably stand on the side, in front or behind the women.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
