Question:
2) if someone asks us why we have to be tested instead of Allah swt just destroying shaitaan how do we answer that? I was watching a video where an atheist asked this and was trying to think of how to answer it
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Not every question is logically correct and nor does every question require an answer. Allaah Ta’aala does as He wishes and there is none to question Him. Who are we to question why He did something?
Allaah Ta’aala could have destroyed the shaytaan but He chose not to. Instead, He chose to keep the shaytaan as test for us. He gave us life to see who would be the best in actions. If He wanted, He could have not created the shaytaan or even us to start with. It should be noted that the shaytaan is not the only test. He is part of the entire test.
We suggest that you study the book titled “The Divine Reality” by Ust. Hamza Tzortzis to better understand this topic.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
