Question:
asalamualaikum wrwb Mufti Saab

1. is working at Subway Fast Food where they sell pork allowed? would income be halal?
2. if working there is allowed, would handling/preparing sandwiches with pork be allowed?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

1. It is unadvisable to work at Subway. If one is making sandwiches, then placing haraam items in it is impermissible and sinful. Haraam includes pork as well as the chicken and other meat products. While the income will be deemed halaal, it will be advisable to give away a portion of the income in charity for purification.
2. Handling or preparing haraam items such as their chilcken, beef, meatballs, pepperoni, turkey, pork, etc. is impermissible. One will be assisting in sin. He should actively search for an alternative job. Istighfaar must be made as well.
