Question:
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu Mufti saab,
If one does istikhara and for some reason takes the wrong decision (assuming that he took the right decision), does Allah still guide him to what is best for him eventually?
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Istikhaarah means to seek divine goodness in whatever choice one makes. There is no wrong choice. Whatever decision you make after having performed istikhaarah and applying your due diligence, Allaah Ta’aala will place khayr in that for you. At times, what you assume to be good may not be good in reality, and the same with bad.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
