Wudhu breaks if someone looks at your awrah

Fatwaa ID: 2088

السلام عليكم
A sister asked;
Can you check if someone sees your awra awra who shouldn’t see it, (i.e another woman,) does it invalidate your wudhu?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

At the outset, one should be extremely cautious with regards to uncovering his ‘awrah. It is a grave sin to unnecessarily uncover the ‘awrah in front of whom it must remain covered. Rasulullaah ﷺ has cursed the one who uncovers his ‘awrah and also the one who looks at it. Sincere istighfaar and tawbah must be made.

Nevertheless, uncovering the ‘awrah or being seen in a state of uncover does not invalidate or affect the wudhu. This is applicable in both, permissible and impermissible, scenario. The wudhu will remain intact.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
